Beware of CCW Permit-Related Scams -- The Wisconsin Department of Justice communicates with permit holders by traditional mail. DOJ will never contact you by phone to discuss an expired license, request your credit card or other financial information. If you question the legitimacy of a communication regarding your CCW license, contact DOJ at (608) 261-7998.
License Replacement
Request to have your lost or stolen CCW license replaced. A new License number will be assigned. The cost for a replacement license is $12 and will require a new background check.
If your License was damaged and are requesting a new card with your existing License Number you must submit your request through the mail and return your damaged card.
